The power cycle is the same as rebooting the device but a bit enhanced in coping with issues. Many software-related issues can be easily solved by the power cycle method.

This is the reason why to opt for this method at the start of the troubleshooting process.

Power cycle Blink camera

  • Wait for about 2 minutes and then re-insert the batteries in the camera. Make sure, the batteries are placed properly inside the camera.

Power cycle Sync Module

  • You can easily power cycle the sync module by unplugging the power cable from it.
  • Wait for several minutes and then plug in the power cable again.

After completing the power cycle process, now Power ON both devices and see if the issue is solved or not.

If the Blink camera is not working, there is a high chance of a connection issue. The connection between the Blink camera and the sync module might not be stable.

Hence, you should reconnect the camera to the Sync module and see if it works.

  • Launch the “Blink app” on your smartphone.
  • Next, go to the “Camera/Device Settings” menu.
  • Now, you need to select the desired camera that is not working.
  • Finally, tap the “Reconnect” or “Add device” option and follow the on-screen instructions to reestablish the connection between the Blink camera and the Sync module.

Try To Refresh Network Connections

The Blink camera stops working if the network connection is not stable. Hence, you need a stable network connection to let the Blink camera work seamlessly.

You should also consider power cycling the router/modem. Refreshing the network connection may fix this issue.

  • Turn OFF the router/mode.
  • Next, unplug the power cable from the router/modem and wait for several minutes.
  • Now, you are ready to plug in the power cable and after 15 seconds Turn ON the router/modem.

Check the Range

If the Blink camera is not in the range of a WiFi network, then it would not work. Make sure, the Blink camera is within the range of the WiFi Network and the Sync module.

The defined range for a Blink camera to establish a stable connection with a Sync module and WiFi network is within a radius of 100 ft.

You can also check the signal strength of the established connection between the camera and the Sync module in the Blink app.

If the signal strength is less than 3 bars, then you need to move the sync module closer to the camera and the WiFi router to gain more signal strength.
