Check Internet Connection

Make sure, your devices that are connected to the internet connection is stable. All the devices such as your smartphone/tablet and blink camera are connected to the same WiFi network.

In case, the Blink camera is blinking red, then it means the connection is lost and the camera is stuck on connecting to Blink servers.

So, try to reset the WiFi router, it will refresh the connection and will lead to a stable connection.

Restart all Devices

You should reboot your smartphone/tablet. Power cycle the Blink camera. First of all, turn Off the camera and then remove the batteries from it and wait for 2 minutes. After that, insert the batteries and place them properly inside. Now, turn ON the Blink camera.

If you are using other power sources for the Blink camera instead of batteries, then unplug the power cable and wait for 2 minutes. After that, plug in the cable and turn ON the Blink camera.

Check the Range

Make sure, all the devices such as Blink camera, Sync Module, and WiFi router are close to each other.

If the Sync Module is not within a range of the WiFi router or Blink camera, then you might face connectivity issues and hence the Blink camera will remain stuck on connecting to Blink servers.

Check Sync Module

Make sure, that the Blink camera is connected to the Sync module with good signal strength. To verify this, you should launch the Blink app on your smartphone/tablet and then follow the below steps,

  • Open the “Blink app”.
  • Further, tap the “Settings” of the linked Blink camera.
  • Next, proceed with tapping “General Settings”.
  • After that, go to the bottom to see the “Network” tab.

If you find the signal strength weak, then try to move the sync module close to the Blink camera. Also, power cycling the Sync module may help in resolving this issue.

Turn OFF the Sync Module, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 2 minutes. After that, plug in the power cable and turn ON the Sync Module.

If you are using the older version of the Blink app, then most probably you might face issues like these. Hence, you should update the app to the latest version.

Also, turn ON the auto-update feature for the Blink app on your smartphone.

Do check if your Blink camera is running on the latest firmware. Most often, the outdated version of the Blink camera causes issues.

There might be some incompatibility issues causing the connection failure with the server.

  • Open the “Blink app”.
  • Further, tap the “Settings” of the linked Blink camera.
  • After that, locate and tap the “Firmware Updates” option.
  • It will automatically search for any new firmware update and if available, then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.

Ensure the WiFi network is stable. The Blink camera should also be connected to the internet and should be located within range of a WiFi Network to avoid any kind of disruption.

Make Sure Account Credentials are Correct

Make sure, you have entered the correct credentials of your Blink account. If you have multiple Blink accounts, then confirm the credentials you are entering are of the Blink account that your particular Blink camera is associated with.

Do check,

  • The email you are entering is correct.
  • The password is correct.

Check Network Frequency Band

There are types of network frequency bands, 2GHz, and 5GHz. The Blink camera is compatible with a 2GHz frequency band to connect with Blink servers and integrate with other devices. If the 5GHz band is selected, then you might suffer from connectivity issues.

Hence, when you are about to connect and set up the Blink camera, confirm that the WiFi network frequency band is set to 2.4 GHz.

If your Blink camera still fails to connect to Blink servers, then you should perform the factory reset to remove all the custom changes.

There might be some misconfigurations in the Blink camera settings, by performing a reset, the Blink camera will restore to factory default settings.

Most of the software-related issues including the network connectivity can be resolved by factory resetting the camera.
